However the reality is far different. It seems to be that getting something to [RC] status seems to be equivalent to saying it is ready for deployment on live sites. Whether or not the developer ever plans to submit the [RC] version for validation and release to the CDB is generally never clear.
It's as simple as that.. either yes or no for validation.Point of Extensions in Development forum is to get an extension into validation process.
If developers don't want to to submit their work into CDB then there's no point to even post in that forum.
If I remember it correctly, that forum is for extensions that should be submitted for validation at some point.
Then it's time to submit it for validation & not keeping that topic open for whatever reason.Their extension is working perfectly fine and does not require any advancement or progress.
There are no new features that need to be added to their smooth running extension except for updates to new versions of phpBB later.
So there are no updates needed yet their contribution gets shut down from the lack of activity which is not even needed.
If external extension (extensions that will not be sent for validation) can be posted in that forum, then phpBB team needs to update forum description.
